Krafton, the studio behind popular mobile game titles such as PUBG, PUBG Mobile, Battlegrounds Mobile India and the latest PUBG: New State has revealed that it has invested $ 6 million in an Arab mobile game publisher. Arab studio Tamatem Games has been the subject of an investment round with more investors such as Venture Souq and Endeavor Catalyst, with the exception of Krafton. Tamatem studio was founded in 2013 and mainly focuses on developing mobile games for the Arabic speaking market. The company is based in Amman, Jordan. According to an IANS report, the games company has successfully released over 50 games and has accumulated a total of over 100 million downloads. The new round of funding should give the burgeoning studio a boost. According to the Yonhap News Agency, this will help expand to more corners of the market and also introduce bigger and better headlines.
Established in 2007, Krafton has become a major competitor in the global video market after the launch of PUBG in 2017.
The battle royale style game, in which users fight to be the last person alive, has been hugely popular around the world, with Krafton having sold over 75 million copies of the game for computers and consoles.
Recently, the company launched PUBG: New State, which is set in a dystopian future in 2051. The game aims to give mobile gamers a more PC-like experience by implementing better graphics as well as new styles of play.
The game features more futuristic vehicles as well as improved weapons and a brand new Troi map, alongside Erangel. The studio will roll out the first major update after the game launches on December 9. The update introduces two new vehicles as well as a new weapon and some additional attachments.
