Good everyone, it’s the BIG. Last week saw a ton of different conferences, including the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, Summer Game Fest, Devolver Digital Showcase, and more. With so many different shows, the first part of this show features Eric Switzer, Jade King and George Foster going through all the big announcements from each of the showcases and discussing their reactions to them.

GAME VIDEO OF THE DAY

Some of the games the team highlights include The Last of Us Part 1, which has had pretty mixed reactions since its reveal, The Plucky Squire, which has an amazing art style and a central gimmick, Starfield, which is damn too wholesale, and several other titles. Not all of the revelations have landed with the team, but it’s shaping up to be exciting years for the game. Oh, and there were definitely plenty of space games, huh?

After that, Eric Switzer is joined by Andrew King and Jade King to highlight some of their favorite games that were featured during the week. Andrew was especially excited for Immortality, which was revealed during the PC Gaming Show. Resident Evil 4 Remake is the one Jade wants to highlight, although he’s initially skeptical of getting a remake in the first place.

One of Eric’s picks for a game he’s excited about is Sonic Frontiers, which he actually got the chance to play in person. You can read all of his thoughts here, but what might have initially looked like another Sonic Boom might actually turn out to be something much more interesting.

TheGamer Podcast is a weekly podcast hosted by Eric Switzer and featuring TheGamer staff discussing gaming topics of the week. Episode 42 can be found here and features discussions of Roller Champions, Pokemon Legends: Arceus Ghostwire: Tokyo, The Quarry, and Vampire Survivors.
