The New Orleans Saints’ 2022 draft came and went and while some players faced losing their jobs, others are in a better position after the team failed to address their respective position in the draft.
The Saints entered the draft with a variety of different needs and while they addressed some of them, others weren’t addressed as much. This bodes well for the players which we are going to discuss here in this article.
Let’s take a look at four Saints members who saw their stocks rise following the draft.
4. Shy Tuttle
While the Saints spent a sixth-round pick on Jordan Jackson out of the Air Force, the team didn’t spend a first-round pick on RDT, where Shy Tuttle is expected to fit. The former undrafted Tennessee player is entering his fourth season in New Orleans and played in all 17 games last year.
I’m not surprised Tuttle is likely still the starting option, but the Saints could lose him, Marcus Davenport and David Onyemata next year.
For now, however, Tuttle’s stock has risen as he will likely get another year as a starter and that could help him land a big contract this time next year. His stock rose incredibly high after the draft and hopefully he plays well again in 2022 and the Saints can find a way to keep him.
